Whiskey Recipe

If you're 80 years old, cleaning the printheads of the Epson WF-3540 will give you a headache. This means setting up the printer to replace the cartridge, unlocking the cartridge holder, disconnecting the 4 cables including the power cord, putting the printer on a glass table in the kitchen to put it on newspapers for safety, lifting the holder cover, the cartridge with poor performance (wrap in plastic wrap so it doesn't dry out or leak), fold a paper towel to catch the drips and try to put it under the mount, heat the cleaning solution in a small saucepan of boiling water, pull out and most importantly try to locate the cursed needle at this depth. a dark hole for secure fixation of the syringe tubing. I wish I had a headlamp or someone to hold a small flashlight. Other than that, it was easy to inject a ml or two there, wait a few minutes and inject a second ml or two, then reinsert the cartridge and close the media cover. Then carry it back and connect the 4 cables. Instead of checking nozzles etc, I just took a thick multi-page document and started printing. At the end of the first page everything was perfect and I canceled the rest of the print. Note: The cassette cover is flipped up for better visibility (wish the scanner could be easily removed or lifted 90⁰) when the holder is on the right end of the rail. Does the cleaner work? That worked great for me. But when you're 80 years old, you're sitting in a chair with Dewar.
