I have 3 cats and they fight over who gets to sit/lie on this thing. I soaked the suction cups in hot water before use as directed in the instructions and they stuck perfectly on the first try. I am shocked at how good and easy the assembly was. I suck at all DIY things so I was a little apprehensive about my ability to glue this thing but that's it but so far so good. I attached it to the sliding glass door in my master bedroom that we never use, so it works well for cats. "Perch" also serves as a scratching post! I am considering getting a second one as the cats love it very much.
