The average size is the same as the small shirt!
I ordered small and medium for my grandchildren. The little one fits the youngest, but the middle one is EXACTLY the same size as the little one. The average size should fit a six year old child. I will be returning this product and ordering a large one. I just hope the big one isn't too big! The shirt is cute and only got two stars because it's too small.
