I bought these packs for the same reason as many others, to try and reduce my use of Ziploc packs. They are very well made and the construction is very solid. I haven't had any problems with the leak (but haven't tested it either). In general I like them, but I don't prefer to use them all the time for the following reasons: - The plastic slider can be difficult to close. I'm a capable woman, I don't have any mobility/strength/joint issues and I still sometimes have a hard time pushing that sucker over the last few inches. The slider requires coordination to try to get all the air out of the bag while trying to seal it. .-I LOVE the concept of the gussets and they are GREAT when the bag is full but they are TERRIBLE when trying to dry out the bags after washing. I just can't get the packets to stay open without putting them on a jar or something. But they are easy to clean! - You stick. That's just the nature of silicone. There is friction when trying to pack them in boxes etc. If you try to put something in the original packaging in these bags, you will get annoyed. So, minor issues, but you can consider them before buying. I also have a few self-sealing resealable plastic bags that I prefer for specific purposes.
