Review on ⏰ Emerson SmartSet Alarm Clock Radio with Bluetooth Speaker, Charging Station and Dual USB Ports for iPhone, iPad, iPod, Android, Tablets - ER100102 by Jessica Simmons

Nothing, but my old Emerson was better.

I bought this to replace an old Emerson that was over 10 years old. The old device had a switch for almost every function and was very easy to use. Unfortunately, the snooze function no longer works, as does the ability to reliably activate an alarm when it should have, which is an important feature of an alarm clock. This novelty has both good and bad qualities. The Good - Digital tuner is nice - USB ports are handy - It has Bluetooth, although the sound quality isn't great anyway - Easy to switch between alarm types - SmartSet feature works as advertised but isn't really something unique anymore. Bad feeling - cheaply made, it's easy - instead of having separate switches to activate and set different alarms, you have to navigate through very vague 'menus', you can't throw away the instructions - the display can't be turned off , it has four levels of brightness, even the lowest is too bright in a dark room. My previous alarm clock's display could be turned off, by default it would only turn on when the alarm went off or when you waved your hand in front of it. There's no power outlet on the back, you have USB ports, but a real power outlet would be more useful. Overall it's ok, at $30 it's a bit pricey for what it is and what you get.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
