Review on 🔦 Gentex GENK20A Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass Temperature: Enhanced Visibility and Navigation Aid by Andrew Aldana

My GENK20A kit (purchased April 2019) came with no connection instructions. The temperature sensor comes with connector pins on the ends of the wires ready for connection to the mirror's 7-pin connector. Which pens go where? This information is missing from the kit and I could not find it online. Luckily my uncle just got a new truck and he had the exact same mirror, so I unplugged his mirror connector and used my multimeter to determine each pin. I then tested my mirror with the exact same connections to the mirror - and it (and the temp sensor) work fine. I've posted a photo with this review and it shows the temperature sensor wires connected to the connector that goes on the back of the mirror. Essentially, you're inserting a temperature sensor wire into the last two open holes on the connector -- the farthest from the two wires that were already installed in that connector. Do not connect these temperature sensor cables to this connector yet - you must first install the temperature sensor and first route the temperature sensor cable to the mirror. Also, do not connect the connector to the mirror until all electrical connections are made. Another thing I want to mention is if you can find somewhere to source 12v (for the mirror) make sure it only has 12v when the ignition is in the RUN position . If you use a 12V socket that supplies 12V when the key is in the accessory position, the mirror can help drain your battery while you're sitting in your car listening to the radio. i like the mirror It looks well made and I've used many Gentex mirrors without a single breakage, but I found the kit cheap as it didn't include the plastic line from the mirror to the headliner (Gentex 50-9010227001M) - and even cheaper to avoid adding to it Instructions for connecting the temperature sensor to the mirror connector. These two issues are the main reason why I only gave three stars. Reseller: If you are selling this mirror to customers, why not copy or make a diagram from my photo and put it in the box with the kit before shipping the mirror to the customer? If I couldn't figure out the wiring I would return the mirror and you would lose the sale. This manual is for the Gentex GK20A mirror kit only as it was supplied when I bought mine.
