This is one of the most popular travel umbrellas due to its weight. Works great in bright sun and rain, although like any other umbrella, sooner or later your hands, shoes and pants will get wet. I read that it's made of fiberglass, so I figured it would be strong enough as well. In fact, the small hinges that connect the bars to the dome are made of flimsy plastic and will break in moderate winds. This umbrella is far less wind resistant than a $15 umbrella. It might still be the most durable umbrella in its weight class, so I might even have to buy another one for hiking, but I'll put up with it no matter what the wind! I wish someone could develop and design a better lightweight umbrella.
