When you get the belt, it comes with some instructions on how to trim it. The math they offer is to take your measured waist size, then add 6" to it, and cut to that length (see attached photo). This means, for my 36" waist, I need to cut at the 42" line. Fortunately, I bought the 36-42" belt, so I didn't cut anything. but their sizing is clearly misleading because they don't warn you about this extra 6" you will need. Beware of this when ordering your size! -1 star for this misleading info!Beyond that, the belt looks good and is new, and it's low cost. I haven't used it much yet, but it seems like a great value.
