Wow what a disappointment. I bought the same belt in black eight years ago. I still use this belt. It's heavy, keeps its shape and still looks attractive after all these years. Of course, the wear and tear is obvious, but it still holds its color and is perfectly acceptable in almost all situations. That's why I wanted to get another one in brown. Immediately noticed what other reviews said. The skin is thinner and not as heavy. It's also a lot more flexible than a non-old belt, a bit flimsy. Holes inside are not machined. The metal clasps and guard ring don't have the noticeable metallic noise of the old belt, meaning the metal is a lot cheaper. I've had it for two weeks now and I have to change the direction I put it through my pant loops every day. I'm trying to push the curve back from my back to the left. When I look at the belt while writing, the skin already puckers. The fit is good and that's the only reason I upped the rating by one star. I don't expect this belt to last more than a year. Honestly, I paid less for it in 2018 than I did in 2010. But I'd happily pay double if I get the belt I'm counting on. Sad how my old belt now seems indispensable.
