I haven't owned a hob or oven in over 20 years so I'm very good at microwave cooking. Egg explosions are always the bane of the microwave and this product is completely trouble free. The slightly rubbery texture is also versatile when smashing eggs, a situation that hasn't really changed here. It helps to experiment to find the perfect timing for the atomic bomb to bridge the line between rubber and liquid. The lid also helps to shorten the cooking time here. Personally, I still spray the top and bottom of the unit before cooking because eggs are such a sticky and messy beast. I am very happy with this device and will eat eggs again!
