I had my first WRT54GS almost 6 years before it was disabled by a lightning strike. I also flashed the firmware to DDWRT, tripled the WiFi power to 70W and added a high gain antenna. It's a great accomplishment and I've replaced my burned out router with one of the same make and model. I like it, and since I mostly have "G" gear, I didn't feel the need to upgrade to "N" standards. This covers my home and outbuildings with a strong signal.
