Doesn't work at all

I bought two of these because I have a dual port MacBook Pro and four USB-C devices I need to connect to it (8 channel digital audio box, laptop powered) . , 10GB Ethernet and an ISB/Thunderbolt dongle), and I thought there was finally a true USB-C port multiplier on the market. So far absolutely NOTHING I have connected to it has worked. Nothing at all.
