I'm staying on Cape Cod for the summer and there isn't regular garbage collection - you have to go to the transfer station and drop off the garbage/recyclable waste, they do runs to the transfer station , the station is MUCH easier (just load it in the trunk) and keeps my kitchen and garage organized and tidy. The only downside for me is that I tend to make more plastic and paper than glass and metal so some fill up fairly quickly and others mostly stay empty but I can't fault the product. They're fairly durable - I treat them with moderate care, but no frills, and they hold up well - I line them with little kitchen bags to keep them from sticking and attracting flies. Before you buy, make sure the size is right for you - the size of a small kitchen paper basket or a large bathroom paper basket.
