Review on Charging Port Connector Cable Replacment by Brent Ayyagari

Revainrating 1 out of 5

My iPad 4 is finally charging again!

I ordered from a "MOBILEPRIME" dealer which looks like a genuine OEM part. I came to this conclusion by comparing the original port I replaced, which looked 100% identical to my critical eye. This solved the charging problem for less than $6! This was my first tablet repair so I took my time. Could be completed in less than an hour. The hardest part was removing the screen. The metal tool I had just couldn't lift the screen as it was too thick. I ended up using a razor blade from a fresh cardboard box (sharp bit) and very gently got it to lift the screen, then used some 0.50mm guitar pics (available on eBay for less than $3), to detach the screen from the screen. Glue. Too bad I didn't order the iSesamo screen lift tool as I scratched the case a bit when I used the blade that came in the box. Thankfully, the iPad case doesn't show the scratches/dents, which are only visible in the corner where I started. Once I managed to lift the glass I used plastic guitar pictures that won't scratch. I used a basic hair dryer and remember you need a small plastic spatula and a very small Phillips head screwdriver. These suction things were not needed. The repair wasn't too bad if you have the right tools and patience. Watch some YouTube videos and almost anyone can do it.
