I do not recommend this. Making them doesn't make sense. The ball of the earring does not unwrap like a regular cartilage earring; decorative front part of the earring. Not only does this mean you have to push the earring's shank back (oops), but you also have to insert your fingers into the earring's tiny dome to twist the front. The detailing on the front blocks your view and makes it very difficult to see what you are doing. It took me years to fiddle with it (see: my bright red ear). Eventually the stone fell out in one as soon as I tried to screw it in, so the quality isn't as good as it seems. There are definitely better ones, save your money.
