I have hair above my waist so I was obviously concerned about pulling my hair. I always wear my hair when wearing this fan mostly for gardening etc and it doesn't pull on my hair. The battery lasts several hours at low speed and I was pleasantly surprised at how much air it circulates around my head and face. It was a very hot summer in the southern US and I took advantage of it a lot. I am very happy with it and love the color. It also has a nice curve with a soft silicone piece in the middle so you can position it however you like. After a few hours, I noticed that it might feel a little heavy on my collarbone, but nothing to detract from my experience with it.
