High waist is an understatement
For reference, I'm 5'5", 160lbs, thick and bought a medium. The shorts fit pretty good but the waist is so high, it comes up to my ribs. There's elastic in the waist I ended up cutting out. All it did was strangle my muffin top and it was extremely uncomfortable. The shorts without the elastic fit better and frankly, the elastic band is completely unnecessary because the shorts are made of stretchy material. Overall, I don't hate them but I don't like the waist being so high.

- The shorts may require above average maintenance to ensure they stay in good condition.
