X10 is the oldest and most original home control system and I am pleased that the company continues to innovate. This module solves many communication problems with x10 modules, power line interference and just plain bizarre home wiring. The X10 has a major advantage over high-tech controllers. You can set multiple devices to the same address to turn them on and off simultaneously with a single command. It's great until the noise gets in the way. Some didn't turn on or didn't turn on. This repeater solves the problem. You may have to experiment with position to get the signal where it's supposed to go, but it works. The red light will flash to let you know when it's receiving a signal. This solved the poltergeist problem I've struggled with for years and keeps the X10 relevant and good value as a starter or base controller network.
