I bought two of these, the first one that allows me to log into my Win 10 tablet with my fingerprint and the second that allows me to log into my Win 10 laptop without lifting the lid to get to the integrated fingerprint scanner when it's on the dock. As others have pointed out, getting the system to recognize the device is an extra step, but it's simple and a one-time feature. WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW: 1. It works very well. Recognizes my fingers every time and logs me in quickly.2. The price is right compared to alternatives. MUCH cheaper.3. The USB connector is a bit long which protrudes further from the computer than I would like. It would be better if the reader's "head" was snug against the computer.
