Not recommended! for accessories and consumables

I usually avoid giving negative reviews but this time I had to because I expected much better results from these antennas (based on many positive reviews)! I tested the Monarch 40 and 50. I'm only 9 miles from the transmitters (and the antennas were pointed at them). All in all a very bad result! The signal is weaker than average (especially above 50, which was surprising)! It doesn't matter where I posted it. With and without reinforcement. Confirmed by signal strength and quality indicators on TV (and visual confirmation). i am not new I've tested many different antennas in my area (which isn't that hard). 2-3 channels produce weaker signals and/or come from 20-30 miles away. Wanted to see if these antennas could work better with these channels but in reality these antennas performed worse than average even with local channels! Also, based on the (vague) product description, I have the impression that you can (maybe) connect your own coaxial cable to these antennas. Not this case. They have to rely on a flimsy, poor quality cable permanently connected to them. Mohu antennas (with coaxial connector) are clearly preferable. This allows you to use a higher quality cable (e.g. RG-6, with four shields) that is less susceptible to interference. It's also possible that the built-in LTE filter is actually reducing the signal on these antennas. This is usually done through filters. This type of filter is not essential and can be harmful. These filters can be purchased separately. If it's not needed and (possibly) reduces the signal, then why build it into the antenna? I don't understand how (presumably) others have had such good results. Currently with Mohu Metro for $14.99 (at Revain.com). Highly recommend if you are in close proximity to transmitters (totally unbiased opinion). Unfortunately, I cannot recommend these antennas. Very disappointed!
