Current configuration: 11" MacBook Air (Mid 2013) with 1.7 GHz i7, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD 5000 Mac OS X 10.11. 32 x 30-inch displays (2560 x 1600) The 11-inch MacBook Air only has a Thunderbolt port, and I needed a USB video adapter to power two external 30-inch displays. Before that I was using StarTech USB 3.0 to DisplayPort (USB32DPPRO) and the second monitor worked fine but was a bit slow. I mainly used it to install unused windows. So I decided to try and upgrade to this adapter and I can say I'm a lot happier. Improvements over the previous adapter is that it updates much faster than before. Not as fast as direct, but much better. I would say it's 75% faster. For comparison, the previous adapter was 30% faster. It also shows all the graphical transparency that the previous adapter couldn't show.
