However, if you work really hard with mixins, this may not work for everyone. The lid ensures a good seal. I don't see crystals until ice cream has been in the freezer for almost a week, and then only on the lid (I don't know what happens after a week because ice cream just doesn't keep that long in this house). !). The containers are strong, with no special bends. I hand wash them so I don't know how they will perform in the dishwasher. As one review says, hold on tight when digging through hard ice because those suckers can fly! Haven't lost any off the counter yet but they are sturdy and don't bother me. I love them and will definitely buy another pair. I highly recommend them!
