Review on Fairtex Microfiber Military Sparring Training by Mark Hamblin

My favorite Fairtex gloves so far!

I have been practicing Muay Thai for 6 years and I am a glove collector. I collect, compare, review and sell gloves. I bought all the white Skyntex BGV14 16oz gloves. These gloves exceeded my expectations. I originally bought a pair of BGV9s but something happened in transit and they never made it to my house. I read that some compared these BGV14s to BGV9s, just like a synthetic version. I wanted Mexican style gloves for the price of a Mexican glove (Cleto Reyes, Gil etc). These gloves have been delivered! They have a double layer of latex foam padding that slides out on the pocket/arms and is rated for 100 rounds. Excellent compartment for hands, especially compared to BGV1. There is enough room in the hand compartment to wrap yourself up tightly without feeling too tight. Simply open and close your fist to catch/parry a punch. The synthetic leather (microfiber/skintex) is holding up well and I don't see any signs of wear. I don't use them for sparring and I don't recommend them. The latex foam lining gives it a fairly stiff feel. I'd be embarrassed to beat my sparring partners with it, but to each his own. All in all a great pair of gloves and a steal for the price! Weapons. To be honest I would say this is an intermediate/intermediate level glove for those who have trained hands and can throw. If you are a beginner, be aware that they are HARD. Train hard and train smart!
