All reviewers, please provide relevant information about what you are working with; I have a Core Intel i5 on my 2016 MacBook Pro. GoFanco works without any fuss. I don't need to install any software other than the DisplayLink software downloaded from the internet and installed quickly. I had to tweak and fiddle around a bit, but I had it in about 10-15 minutes or less. After the install, when I unplugged my laptop, I had to reset the resolution on the extended monitor. For the extended display, be sure to set "Use as separate display" in the monitor icon in the menu bar. A NOTICE. In the sound settings menu you can choose to show the icon in your menu by clicking on the box in the sound settings. If you need sound from your goFanco extended monitor, set the sound icon to "USB Display Adapter". The goFanco Monitor Extender has a higher resolution and is cheaper than other display extenders in the same category, and it works. KEY: When connecting, whether you're connecting and then disconnecting or connecting for the first time, make sure your device is on and active (not in sleep mode). mode), then FIRST connect goFanco and make sure it is stable (about 5 seconds) and then connect any other display like in my case via DVI connector if you connect two external screens like I do with my notebook have. It took time to understand this. Works perfectly. Good value for the resolution on my Vizio 28" TV. It reads very well on my TV. I had to reset the TV settings a bit for the advanced computer, but this only works when watching TV. There are adapters with higher resolutions, but these work fine for 28" TV and maybe a bit higher as I don't have the highest resolution for this adapter. On DVI I have 1920 x 1080 (1080p) 60Hz. The adapter can go up to 2048 x 1152 at 50Hz. And with the HDMI adapter on the back of my monitor/tv it's possible to go to 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz Very happy Great deal.
