I took a chance because other types of hair ties suck. I bought a pack of multicolored ones because there were so many beautiful colors and they were cheap. Now I know why they were so cheap, if you have hairspray, mousse, gel, pomade or oil on your hair forget it. I braided my hair and added one of those silicone hair ties at the end and it was gone in a few hours. I found them broken in the car, in bed and on the floor at work. I saw them and remembered how my mom used rubber bands on the ends of my braids when I was younger and decided to give them a try. I think I received them around March 21st and am using the same rubber band. You will hold me forever! Are they reliable: Yes, compared to those silicone bands. Anyone with ethnic hair should just throw it in the trash. Ease of use: Definitely. They stay in place until you pull them out and they unravel and fall apart. Easy to take off: for me it is, but I don't wrap it too tightly around the end of my braid because it would be hell to remove and my hair would break. If you wrap them tightly around your hair, just trim it very gently.
