I started photography a year ago and gradually amassed a decent collection of gear. I'm looking for the perfect camera bag and was hoping this would be the one, but it's not for me. But it might be for you as I believe a camera bag is a unique and personal choice. I'll explain the good and the bad and why it's not what I was looking for. First, good. This is a quality bag for the price and I was impressed with the materials and construction. The shoulder strap is often short on budget bags, but this one is wide, thick, and comfortable. The height of the bag is impressive, allowing it to hold a surprising amount of gear. It looks like a typical messenger bag, so most people won't even know it's a camera bag unless you put a tripod on the bottom straps. This can be a huge plus if you're concerned about expensive equipment being stolen. The bag just looks good and much better than the modest price suggests. But that's why I don't like it. I feel like they just took a shoulder bag, attached tripod straps to the bottom and put an insert inside for the camera gear. Other than that, nothing in the design is meant for photographers. I found the insole worse and don't have enough padding, especially at the bottom. The height was good but then my gear piles on top of each other and that makes it more cumbersome to get what I want. There are two pockets under the flap but they aren't deep enough to hold much and because of the height I had to pull everything out to get to what I needed. Most camera bags do not have a small mesh pocket that can be used to store small items such as memory cards. The bottom line is, if you don't have a lot of gear and stealth is important to you, then this could be the great bag for you. I'm sure it will last for many years but I will continue my search for the perfect bag.
