This is the perfect phone mount. The mount has rubber pins that fit into the vent hole. There is a hinge between the mount and the magnet, so you can tilt the magnet in any direction. The hinge is a little tricky to adjust, but that's a good thing because it stays in the desired position. So glad my phone doesn't have to block the vent. The only thing is when I remove the phone from the magnet it can pull the entire mount out of the vent, but this is easily solved by holding the mount with extra fingers while removing the phone with my thumb and forefinger. Much better than a "permanent" adhesive mount damaging my dashboard.
