All fittings and connections are made of brass and are therefore leakproof. There are no O-rings or associated sealing elements, and it all comes down to how tight you can hand-tighten the fittings on the hoses on the meter body. There are no O-rings or anything like that, so the kit was designed that way. The biggest problem is that even if you use pliers to tighten the selected fittings by turning the pressure gauge on the hanger, if they are hanging on the hood, the hoses will detach themselves, and refrigerant and cooling oil will splatter everywhere. All these problems can be solved by the manufacturer for very little money. Add some o-rings and bushings. Rotate the hanger separately from the connector. It's just poor engineering that prioritizes cost over fitness for purpose.
