The communication system itself is reliable. It has decent battery life, acceptable sound quality, and just enough volume to be heard on my obliviously loud bike. However, Scorpion really needs to work on the cabling management for this system. The helmet cheek pocket needs to be about twice as large to accommodate the plug and extra cable without risk of damage. If you absolutely can't live with matte black, save yourself the hassle and buy a pre-assembled helmet and communications system.
