Preferred design 1 but no elastic band not needed

See photo for case size comparison. The problem with Design 1 is that it's so compact that it's really difficult to take out the SanDisk. However, if you put it in a case without an elastic, but above it, then the problem is solved. You can cut and remove the elastic strap that's supposed to hold the SanDisk if you like, as it doesn't really make much sense since the SanDisk is protected in a fully padded, tight, zippered case anyway. Design 2 and 3 don't have this problem, but this size is slightly larger. Both are excellent quality but design 1 also seems to be of a higher quality than design 2 for the items I received.
