I have a small collection of bikes, some of which are showing their age and are starting to need bottom bracket service. There are a few cheaper tools out there, but I'm glad I went with Park Tool's quality block. The cranks on my 20-year-old Trek hybrid are really stuck there. I restore cars as a hobby so I have a collection of gear pullers and arm pullers but none of them were up to the job mainly due to the size and spacing. This tool did its job. I wouldn't say they came off easily, it still required a lot of torque on the tool, but they came off without damaging the cranks, this tool, or the bottom bracket bearing shaft. It appears to be good quality hardened tool steel, the threads are not damaged at all. I'm glad I bought it, I'm sure it will find many more uses.
