Review on 🎢 Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO: Audiophile Turntable with Carbon Fiber Tonearm, Speed Selection & Sumiko Rainier Cartridge (High Gloss White) by David Citizen

Much better than expected.

Let me start by saying that I'm in no way a music lover, although I know that I like it when I hear it. I've owned direct drive turntables for 45 years, some of them last longer than others and cost twice what I paid for this one. This time I went for a Belted TT, I was already ready to order a more expensive one when I came across the Debut Carbon Evolution. Good choice! Pros: Easy to set up. Sounds great straight away (I think it will get better with time?) The Sumiko Rainier pickup is convincing. It's good that the steel disc is well damped. : A little lighter than I'm used to. The armrest is awkward, I'm not used to lifting my arm to release the armrest. I'll get used to it and I think I made the right choice.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Periodicity
