These speakers exceeded my expectations. I added them to my theater ceiling afterwards. I had a 5.1 setup and decided to add them for 7 channel use. My ceiling is black so my choices were very limited without resorting to painting/modifying the speaker package. I never really thought about Pyle, but I took them because they were black and the right size. For the application I have, they couldn't be better. They don't push very hard and the actual sound quality doesn't matter as they are basically effects speakers but I've used a couple side by side with a much more expensive set of ceiling speakers of a similar design and size and I have to say these seem the best to have the best sound in my ears. Nothing scientific, but coincidentally I would choose Pyles for music.
