This review is for the Merrick Real Chicken and Sweet Potato Recipe dry cat food that I received. My cat has been eating it for nine months now. He likes the taste and this food has not caused any health problems. The first few ingredients are good - boneless chicken, chicken flour, and turkey flour. The round pieces of food are half a centimeter in diameter and big enough for my cat to nibble on. The food is easy to digest, the cat does not get sick. I love that this food is free of fish, rosemary extract and rosemary oil as some cats are sensitive to rosemary extract and rosemary oil and some cats are allergic to fish. I also give my cat canned cat food every day and sometimes she gets her own cooked chicken. What I don't like about this product is that it has a lot of potato and pea ingredients and these are not nutritious. From time to time you open the package and the pieces of food are very small - much less than a quarter of an inch. Sometimes there is a layer of coarse powder and crumbs at the bottom of the bag. If the pieces of food are too small, my cat won't eat them. Then I have to throw the bag away. But I keep getting this food because my cat loves it so much.
