A few downsides. I have a self-propelled lawn mower. I tested them in my kitchen the first day they came out. I usually only listen to audio books so my rating is based on that and not loud music. As I walked through the kitchen, I heard pots being moved, my socked feet tapping on the hardwood floor, and my kids talking in the other room. It didn't help drown out the sound of the lawn mower. 2) I wear glasses. These headphones fit my head well, but since I wear glasses, the backs of my ears rest on the frame. This is inconvenient and can even be harmful with prolonged use. 3) I am used to using headphones. I probably hurt my ears from having the earbuds so close to my eardrums, but I've found that in-ear headphones make the audiobook I'm listening to sound far away. I had to listen to my books out loud even though there wasn't much background noise around me. I bought them at a very good price and really hoped they would fit me. Unfortunately I will have to send them back.
