Not for the average chinchilla.
Bought for my chinchillas but definitely not the right wheel for them. The width is clearly not enough. I have a standard size chinchilla (pictured) and a small one, and even a small one couldn't walk on it. In addition to the size, the wheel turned very well and quietly. I just couldn't justify saving it for a $30 chew toy π .
