Mine arrived in a broken box but everything was fine inside. it had only a very slight odor that disappeared in about 36 hours. It expanded to full size in less than 24 hours. This is the most comfortable body pillow I have ever had; It doesn't retain heat and stays cool, it's durable and supportive yet still fits snugly to my body. I only have two reservations; First, you can't get out of a cheap "carrier bag" without destroying it, which is honestly okay because compression and stretching means you literally can't get it back in, and it's heavy for a burly toddler heavy, which can be quite uncomfortable when changing positions at night. I found myself a little stiff from moving less in response, but my hips and knees feel better because this pillow provides such comfortable, plush support. In general the pillow is excellent, if they were available I would buy another. However, if you move at night, this might not be for you, no joke at all about that heavy feeling.
