This comb is very well built and I love the small body. if you use it on the go, it would be useful to have it in the car or in your pocket. A bottle opener is a nice touch. We personally found the teeth to be very hard, so I think it would be preferable to a basic beard comb. My husband has very thin short hair (his beard is also short) so a long beard or hair isn't really necessary. In general, a great gift - it was a stuffing for stockings.
