I bought this product primarily to know when to change my Rodi filtration system, but I have also used it to test tap water, fridge filter water and Brita jug water. All readings made sense: tds of 0ppm for commercial distilled water, 0-1ppm for filtered water, about 320ppm for tap water and about 220ppm for filtered fridge water. The water in the Brita-Krug contained almost 350ppm - higher than unfiltered tap water - even though the filter life stated by the manufacturer was not yet over. Changing the filter in the jar lowered the reading to 248ppm. The temperature readings match those of a reef aquarium thermometer. Provided that the meter lasts a long time, this is an excellent value.
