Looks good but doesn't work very well

Bought these as a gift for a friend who I often play D&D with. The look is absolutely amazing; they look great and are well made. Unfortunately, they are very heavy (as mentioned in some reviews) and don't roll very well, causing the throwing die to fall off and only land face up. they turn. Our wooden dice tray has a lot of nicks and chips from these dice as their weight, size and shape really affect the wood. Also, our table top is a large glass topped dining table and I cringe every time he accidentally drops them on the glass for fear they might break it. Next to the table we use a raised foam board for our miniatures and it's only a matter of time before he gets a huge dent if one of those dice misses the bowl. One of us often (more than half the time) has to pick up a dice to distinguish between many numbers (it's especially difficult to distinguish between 1 and 7). , but I really regret buying them for him as they slow down playtime (since we need to verify that thing actually rolls when it lands) and can damage things like a collapsed combat map or countertop. He loves them, which is great, but overall they made running/playing D&D less enjoyable for me and the other players at the table.

Pros
  • RPG Dice
Cons
  • Not all fit
