I like the idea of "skipping rope" if only I didn't actually have to skip over one. I first saw these being used on a Beachbody program that another reviewer has mentioned and am interested in that program eventually so I already wanted a set like this so when offered a chance to check them out and review them I "jumped" at the chance. (sorry couldn't resist that one, too easy) This Detuck brand set of cordless jump rope runs $7.99 at time of review (even had a coupon when I looked at it). Set comes in a plastic bag, then inside a fancy velvet bag one would expect jewelry or fragile items to come out of, then another plastic bag. Once out they are pretty much what you see in the product pictures. Some of these can be heavily weighted for more of a work out but these are about the right weight and feel for what would normally be your average skipping rope- the best part is, you don't actually have to get over the rope or stop everytime you land on it. You can go as long as you want and get the exact same workout. These are great! As another reviewer pointed out would probably need some oiling if used heavily as they do have ball bearings in order to swing right. For such a low price I'd expect that sort of thing. So far they've been great and I recommend.
