I use it as a stool for my long wheel quilting machine. As some reviewers have said, it's really firm, especially when you're sitting on the edge, but I've found it to be very, very comfortable when using a footstool and sitting fully on the stool. I bought it because it can be adjusted higher than many other chairs on the market. It seems well done. I use it on carpet and the casters don't roll well when I'm sitting on it (as expected) but that's to my advantage because I don't want it rolling under me. If I decide to change my posture and get up from my chair to move it, it rolls very easily. The wheels don't "mix up" and lock up like some do. For my purposes this is a great stool and should last a long time.
