I'm so tired of getting next to nothing on 2.4GHz and being on an Xfinity mesh network (Xfi with pods) a dual band adapter was a must. Here's the thought process. Whenever you use the xfinity grid, you must have a Sid (network name). Because of this, you simply cannot have a 2.4GHz wireless network and a 5GHz wireless network. I needed something that could jump between them if someone had a problem. If you can separate the networks, it's easy to see which network is down and if you have a dual-band wireless switch on the network that's working. I didn't have that opportunity. I only had 2.4Ghz capability on my desktop which meant that whenever there was a problem with 2.4 I couldn't connect to the internet even though the 5Ghz side was working. This device fixed my problem. It automatically connects to the 5GHz side and if I lose connection it switches to the 2.4GHz side and I don't have to do anything. In a mesh system, it connects the module with the strongest signal. Anyway I'm chatting so I'll rate this as a good buy! It's reasonably priced and delivers.
