Review on 💧 Marineland PA0140 Micron Cartridge: Optimal Filtration for Magnum Canister Filters - 1-Pack by Gina Robinson

This filter cartridge does a great job of removing airborne particles from my aquarium. I change twice a week and use two filters alternately. My first pair lasted a year. My best advice is to follow the cleaning instructions and avoid using mechanical cleaners. Don't use your fingers, brush or anything else. Simply spray with water to remove as much dirt as possible, then soak in a 25% chlorine bleach solution for about 24 hours. Then rinse thoroughly and air dry. After this treatment they look like new. UPDATE: I've also found that these filters age over time even though they've been cleaned fairly well with chlorox. I have found that my old filters work well for a week or more, while the new ones show less flow and some filter noise after 2-3 days. Same tank and filter housing. I've found that the new ones filter better and let less material through so they load faster. That's actually what you want. This made the water even cleaner. Well, I figured if 24 hours of soaking in a bleach solution was good, how about 5 or 6 days. DO NOT DO THAT. The gum on the filter will begin to dissolve and become very sticky. I had to drop it. Follow the instructions! Don't do what I did. Still a fantastic product! Much luck.
