Put simply; Pelican has set the standard for quality carry cases and the 1510 is unmatched in its category. The case is made from high quality 1/4 inch thick heavy duty plastic, making it extremely difficult to break, crack or puncture. . The lid is securely fastened to the case body with two double-leaf fasteners. Listen for two loud clicks from each latch to ensure the cover is properly latched onto the case body. The lid hinges have a slow opening mechanism that maintains the pressure of the lid on the case even when closed, providing maximum moisture protection; including everything from rain to a drop in a great and deep body of water. There are three handles on the body; two up front. One of the top two handles extends and retracts on a heavy-duty 6" 1/4" thick plastic rail, allowing the user to easily roll the case on two polyurethane wheels. Two more handles on the front and top allow the user to carry the bag comfortably and securely. The case comes in two versions, either with a hard foam block that the user then cuts out to fit their gear, or in a padded baffle with standard Velcro packaging. These are two separate models so make sure you know which one you are ordering. I ordered a padded bag (without foam). The padded baffle is made with 10lb of high quality foam (like a 10lb carpet underlay, the foam itself doesn't weigh 10lb), sides and dividers that protect your gear from falls, crashes and bumps. The foam is very durable and perfectly absorbs shocks from external influences. The dividers are available in two widths, 3" and 5", allowing a range of customizable configurations for all types and combinations of photo and video equipment. Three sides of each divider have Velcro straps that keep the divider in place. It takes a bit of effort to get the divider exactly where you want it, but once you've put it in place it won't come loose, keeping your gear clean, safe and in place.
