At first I thought I had messed something up because the speed reading was wrong. It didn't match my car, it didn't match the GPS speed on the radar detector or the GPS speed on my phone. So I was ready to stop. But I dug into the manual first (yes, I'm a techie, the manual is the last thing we look at) and saw that there were other modes. I assumed by default it would be in OBD mode and not GPS mode, but it wasn't, it was in GPS mode. So that told me that the GPS mode isn't very reliable either. So I had hope at the time and figured if it was in OBD mode and reading data straight from the car then the speeds would match. And at first it seemed. The vehicle was accurate up to about 35 mph, allowing for the delay it takes for the OBD sensor to take a reading. But once she moved at a constant speed, she adjusted it each time. But then I got on the freeway. And wow. Again problematic. Between 35 and 60 the speed drops to 4 mph. Seriously? It's read by the same system as the speedometer, right? Let's get together. Apparently there are ways to set things up with a switch (and how confusing and contradictory THAT is, I won't even get into it, it was so frustrating). But which part should I optimize? Do I offset it by -4 to get the speed right when I'm on the freeway? But then it would be a glaring error at lower revs where it was originally correct. It then uses the connector's old source, USB Mini-B, which is now deprecated for the four USB versions. I'm in Wisconsin, it's December so clouds, heavy clouds, not even enough light to cast any appreciable shadows on the ground today. But it was still too light to see. And if you're wearing sunglasses, forget it, you won't see ANYTHING. I had an issue with double vision due to the way jeep makes the glass in my 2021 wrangler and if i was planning to keep it for use i could stick it to the window with the little patch they give, to make it softer. But the frustration with the keystrokes required to get anywhere (there are pages and pages of settings in her little guide) and the fact that I can't trust her with literally half my speedometer range makes it difficult for me . Too bad as I had a 2017 Mazda CX-5 Touring version with the head up display installed and loved it, this took me back to my Air Force days. I've missed it since I got my jeeps, but not enough to get over it.
