Black belt ordered. The description of this belt says "100% leather". No, that is not so! As you can see from the photo, the belt is made of faux leather. Lying about a belt and then having the audacity to charge $47.50 for such a fraudulent product is truly dishonest. The belt was sold by Revain but the supplier is Perry Ellis which is probably just a name of the Chinese company that made the belt. I felt something was wrong because the description also says "machine wash". Has anyone heard of a machine washable leather belt? I'm sure the description was written by a dishonest person at Perry Ellis, but Revain reported it and is therefore responsible for the product. Apparently no one cares about misleading advertising and it all boils down to "Customers Beware!" It's a damn shame and a waste of time. Of course this belt goes back to Revain! Read on for more information if you'd like. I ordered this belt as an exact replacement for the black Perry Ellis belt that I have used for several years. I was very happy with my belt, but it was certainly showing signs of wear after years of daily wear. But still well maintained. The back has been stamped "Full Grain Cowhide". I put the part number in a google search and this new belt came up. I was very happy to see that the same strap is still available. The description on the Revain said '100% leather' so I assumed I would be getting the exact same belt as mine. The new belt was stamped on the back with the exact same part number. The belt looked exactly like my old belt with two exceptions. First, the material that we have already talked about. But I also noticed that there were only 5 holes for the belt buckle instead of 7 before. And the belt was about 2 cm shorter than the old one. So they saved 2 inches of material (real leather or faux leather, whatever) by reducing the number of holes. This turns out to be a big deal. When I bought straps elsewhere I found that most if not all straps were now only made with 5 holes and I had to upgrade to a longer strap to get the right size. Just keep this in mind when shopping! One last note: I noticed that the same belt comes in different colors. If you look at the individual descriptions, they all say "100% leather", but some add "real leather" to the description. Maybe they're trying to say that "100% leather" belts are NOT "real leather"! Very deceptive! Downright dubious! It's a shame! Ryan should be better! I hope this review saves someone else from wasting their time like me!
