No check valve

I don't know if these canisters previously had a check valve but if they did then they don't anymore. There is just a small piece of screen in the hole that allows gas to pass and oxygen to enter. Not ideal for degassing home roasted coffee, but you can close the air hole and use the top cap to keep old coffee from scuffing. More quickly. I only use this canister for coffee that I bought and it doesn't reseal.
