As I get older, I'd rather spend some money on certain products (like axes) to avoid having to replace them for several seasons. This is a good choice for chopping wood around the house and will likely last you a lifetime (or at least a couple of decades if you take care of it). it was all shared. Looking at the stack of three strings, it was obvious we were going to need an axe. This option is definitely awesome - sharp, easy to turn, but heavy enough to really get the job done. Fiskar's sizing information is helpful. If you're average or a bit tall, the 28 inch grip is perfect. It serves me well (5'8"), it's good for him (5'10") and can be a good length for slightly taller people too. If you are a professional wood carver I don't know if this is the right tool for you. If you're like us - someone who has to split wood for a house fire for a few cables a year - I don't think there is a better product.
