The package I received says 7 dBi. Keep in mind that higher gain may not result in a stronger compound for your particular application. The higher the gain, the narrower the signal (above and below the antenna the signal level decreases). I was pleased with the performance and build quality of this higher gain antenna. I tested the signal strength of this antenna by connecting my computer to my mobile phone's hotspot via the PC's internal M2 9620 AC card in the 5GHz band. At 6ft the signal was worse than my 2dBi antenna as you would expect. But as soon as I moved the antenna further away to take advantage of the narrower and stronger signal being sent by the 8dBi antenna, the signal strength increased by 11.5%. (see picture) The only problem I had was that I couldn't screw in both antennas at the same time. The receiver on my Gigabyte motherboard places the receivers too close together.
